The process of taking the male and female reproductive cells from the body and combining them and placing the healthy embryos in the uterus of the mother is called in vitro fertilization treatment. In vitro fertilization treatment is a great source of hope for couples who have not been able to have a baby naturally for many years, and who cannot achieve pregnancy despite intrauterine insemination and ovulation treatments. Because women with low egg reserve, anomalies in the cervix and inside, clogged tubes, and men whose sperm quality and number are not sufficient for pregnancy can have a baby with in vitro fertilization treatment (Embryo Freezing Process).
Considering today’s medical technology and the point reached in infertility treatment, it is possible to say that the most successful treatment is in vitro fertilization. In IVF treatment, the eggs obtained from the mother and the sperm obtained from the father are washed, sorted and fed and developed in the laboratory with some drugs. Why is it not considered appropriate to transplant more than 2 embryos in IVF treatment?

Embryos, which can be stored for 5 years as permitted by the laws in Turkey, can be kept for more if both men and women wish, at the end of 5 years in return for their signature. When embryos are desired to be used, they are removed from liquid nitrogen and dissolved at room temperature. On the day they are thawed, healthy embryos can be placed directly into the uterus of the expectant mother. Since there is a risk of not getting pregnancy in the first try of IVF treatment or losing the baby while in the mother’s womb, transferring ready-made embryos without the need for re-use of drugs or medical procedures in the next IVF trial will make the job much easier. However, embryo freezing is very advantageous for patients with polycystic ovary syndrome, which occurs as a result of overstimulation of the eggs. Because in this way, the ovaries are stimulated once, a large number of embryos are obtained and the eggs do not need to be stimulated again (Embryo Freezing Process).
